Music Collab combines remote vocals with a shared backing track on one authoritative song timeline. This keeps the performance aligned to the track rather than relying on two independent playback clocks.

  • Two remote vocalists perform against one backing song.
  • The host needs a combined output ready for an OBS scene.
  • Both peers must start, stop, and restart from the same song position.
  • The guest should join without an account.

Managed OBS sources

Music Collab groups its plugin-owned sources under vAudioLink Music Collab so they remain one collapsible unit:
  • vAudioLink Output — the combined mix intended for the stream.
  • vAudioLink Backing (monitor) — the backing track intended for local monitoring.
  • vAudioLink Backing Video — the muted visual or lyrics source.
Only sources marked as plugin-owned are managed or cleaned up by the dock.
Do not add the monitor-only backing source to the program mix. Doing so can duplicate the backing track.

Backing inputs

  • Supported YouTube URLs can be prepared by the bundled local extraction path.
  • Local backing files use Ogg Opus (.opus or .ogg) in the current workflow.
  • Both peers must report the prepared backing ready before a scheduled start.

Synchronization model

Music Collab aligns performers to the backing song’s shared position. It does not claim to eliminate conversational network latency between two open microphones.
