Use this guide on the computer that will receive the remote ASMR microphone into its OBS scene.

Before you start

  • Install vAudioLink ASMR on both computers.
  • Connect headphones on both computers.
  • Ask the guest to prepare the stereo or binaural microphone source they will send.
  • Sign in with a vAudioLink account that can create hosted rooms.

Open the ASMR dock

In OBS, select Docks → vAudioLink OBS ASMR Panel.The first screen should ask What are you doing today?

Select Host a session

Select Host a session. The dock opens your browser and displays Finish in your browser with a device code.Complete sign-in and approve the OBS plugin. If the browser is hidden or closed, select Reopen browser.Expected result: the dock leaves the authorization screen and shows the room-mode step.

Select Direct room

Under Choose room mode, select Direct OBS Room, then select Next.Follow Discord is a separate workflow. Use Follow Discord only when it is enabled for your account and community.

Configure the room

On Configure Direct OBS Room:
  1. Select the relay region with the best measured latency.
  2. Select the audio quality appropriate to the session.
  3. Confirm any displayed local source or track choice.
  4. Select Create Room.
Expected result: the dock enters its live room view and displays a guest key.

Share the guest key privately

Select Copy beside Send this guest key to your collab partner. Send it through a private message, not through your public stream chat or Program output.Ask the guest to follow Join an ASMR Collab room.

Wait for the guest

Watch the participant card. It changes from waiting to connected when the guest key has been accepted and the audio transport is ready.If the key is rejected, rotate or recreate it and use sign-in and room troubleshooting.

Add the guest audio

Select Add Guest Audio to Scene while the intended OBS scene is active.Expected result: the plugin-managed incoming audio source appears in that scene and its meter responds when the guest speaks.

Prevent a return loop

Open Edit → Advanced Audio Properties in OBS. Keep the incoming guest source on Monitor Off unless you have deliberately built an isolated monitor bus.Make sure the guest audio is not also entering through Discord or another captured call application.

Test left and right

Ask the guest to make a sound clearly on the microphone’s left, then right. Use Send L/R test where appropriate and verify the received orientation.Record 20 seconds locally and listen back through headphones.

Ready-to-stream result

  • The participant card shows the guest connected.
  • The incoming source meter moves on the expected channels.
  • Left and right orientation is correct.
  • The guest hears no delayed copy of their own voice.
  • Your OBS service, stream key, recording settings, and global audio settings are unchanged.

End the room

Select End session in the dock. Create a new room if you need a new guest key or if the previous key was exposed.
