Credential types
These credentials are not interchangeable.
Treat credentials like temporary passwords
- Send them through a private, trusted channel.
- Never show the complete value in OBS Program, public chat, screenshots, recordings, or support tickets.
- Copy the entire value; prefixes and encoded sections are part of the credential.
- Rotate or recreate the credential if the wrong person receives it.
- End the session when collaboration finishes.
Why a credential stops working
A guest key or receiver URL can fail because:- It expired.
- The host ended the room.
- The host rotated access.
- It belongs to another vAudioLink product.
- It was copied incompletely.
- Its role does not match the attempted connection.
- The relay or room encoded in the credential is no longer available.
A credential that worked earlier is not guaranteed to remain valid. This is intentional session isolation, not a permanent invitation system.
Host and guest separation
The host authorizes the dock with their vAudioLink account and creates the room. The guest credential does not expose the host’s account session and does not turn the guest into the account owner. The self-host flow generates its own room credential inside the OBS dock. Share it privately just like a hosted guest key or Receiver SRT URL.If a credential is exposed
- End or rotate the current session.
- Remove the exposed value from any editable post or message.
- Create a new credential.
- Send it through a private channel.
- Confirm only the intended collaborator reconnects.
