Supported client

Close OBS before installing or updating a vAudioLink product. An open OBS process can keep the old plugin DLL loaded.

Account requirements

A hosted session requires a vAudioLink account with the appropriate hosted-relay entitlement. Sign-in happens through a browser authorization flow started from the OBS dock.

Product-specific preparation

Prepare a stereo OBS audio source. For binaural microphones, verify left and right orientation locally before involving the guest.
Prepare the vocalist’s microphone as an OBS source. The host should also have either a supported YouTube URL or a local .opus or .ogg backing file.
Prepare the complete OBS Program view you intend to send. Scene Share sends the whole program, not an individual scene item.
  • Closed-back headphones for both participants.
  • A wired network connection where practical.
  • A separate private channel for sharing the guest key.
  • Enough time for a local test recording before the live session.
  • A fallback communication channel if the production connection needs to be restarted.

Network and security check

  • Allow OBS and the installed vAudioLink plugin through endpoint security software.
  • Do not publish guest keys, receiver URLs, access tokens, or OBS logs containing secrets.
  • Verify both Windows clocks are set automatically.
  • If a corporate or school network blocks the connection, test on another trusted network before changing firewall policy.
