# Quality and network reference

> Choose relay regions, audio modes, and Scene Share bitrate with usable headroom.

## Relay region

Choose the healthy region with the lowest measured latency from the computer creating the session. A geographically closer label is not always the lowest-latency route.

Refresh measurements when:

* The network connection changed.
* A VPN was enabled or disabled.
* You moved between wired and Wi-Fi.
* The shown result is stale or unavailable.

## ASMR audio quality

Higher-quality modes use more bandwidth. Preserve stereo when the microphone and production require binaural orientation.

Start with the dock's recommended hosted setting. Change one quality parameter at a time, then make a local recording and listen for dropouts, channel collapse, or artifacts.

## Music Collab transport

Music Collab normally uses Opus for vocals. The shared backing track follows its own prepared asset and synchronized control path. Do not judge backing readiness from vocal connectivity alone.

## Scene Share bitrate

| Setting | Use when | Sender upload guidance |
| ------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| 3 Mbps | Upload capacity is constrained or stability matters more than detail | Maintain substantial headroom above 3 Mbps |
| 6 Mbps | Normal starting point | Recommended for the default program format |
| 8 Mbps | Fine detail benefits and both network paths are strong | Use only with comfortable sustained headroom |

The sender must upload continuously and the receiver must download continuously. A speed test peak is not the same as stable session capacity.

## Improve stability

1. Prefer wired Ethernet.
2. Stop large uploads, cloud synchronization, and game downloads.
3. Avoid changing VPN routes during a session.
4. Select a lower Scene Share bitrate before accepting repeated stalls.
5. Keep Windows time synchronized automatically.
6. Test the exact sender-to-relay and relay-to-receiver path before production.

## Read the symptoms

| Symptom | First interpretation |
| -------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| Room will not connect | Credential, authorization, firewall, or relay reachability |
| Connected but silent | Source selection, mute, or routing |
| Intermittent audio | Unstable path, congestion, or source callback problem |
| Scene Share preview stalls | Insufficient sustained throughput or receiver reachability |
| Music backing waits | Asset preparation or transfer is incomplete |
