# Preflight checklist

> Verify connection, routing, privacy, and recovery before a live session.

Run this checklist with both participants present. For a first session, record locally before starting a public broadcast.

## Five-minute preflight

* [ ] Both participants opened the same vAudioLink product.
* [ ] Both docks show the expected connected, receiving, or live state.
* [ ] The guest key or Receiver SRT URL was shared privately.
* [ ] The incoming source is present in the intended OBS scene.
* [ ] Headphones are connected and speakers are not feeding an open microphone.
* [ ] Incoming vAudioLink audio is **Monitor Off** unless an isolated monitoring route is intentional.
* [ ] Discord audio is not duplicated in the OBS program mix.
* [ ] Host and guest meters move when each person speaks.
* [ ] A 20-second local recording contains the expected audio channels and video.
* [ ] Existing OBS stream, recording, output, and global audio settings are unchanged.

## Product-specific test

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="ASMR Collab">
    Ask the guest to make a clearly left-sided sound, then a right-sided sound. Confirm the host receives the same orientation and that neither side is collapsed or reversed.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Music Collab">
    Load the backing track, wait until both ends report ready, and run a short scheduled start. Confirm both vocals align with the same backing timeline and that the backing appears only once in the program mix.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Scene Share">
    Show a visible clap or slate while speaking. Confirm the receiver sees and hears it together through the single **Incoming Program** source.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Recovery plan

Agree on these actions before going live:

1. Who will end and recreate the room if the connection fails.
2. Which private channel will carry the replacement key.
3. Whether the host will temporarily mute or hide the incoming source during recovery.
4. What fallback content the stream will show while reconnecting.

<Warning>
  Never display the dock, guest key, Receiver SRT URL, diagnostics containing credentials, or private support information in the public OBS Program view.
</Warning>

## End-of-session check

* End or leave the session from the dock.
* Confirm the dock returns to an idle state.
* Remove plugin-managed sources only if you no longer want them in the scene.
* Rotate any credential that was accidentally exposed.
* Save the OBS log before restarting if you need support to investigate a problem.
