# Choose a workflow

> Match your goal and role to the correct vAudioLink guide.

vAudioLink is three separate OBS products. Both participants must open the same product.

## Host or sender

Choose the workflow by what you need to place in the other creator's OBS scene.

The host or sender signs in when using the hosted relay, creates the session, and privately shares the generated credential.

## Guest or receiver

Start from the type of credential you received.

  Guests and Scene Share receivers do not need a vAudioLink account. The credential grants only the temporary role encoded for that session.

## Direct or Follow Discord

* Choose **Direct room** for a private key-based session. It works with all three products.
* Choose **Follow Discord** for eligible ASMR Collab or Music Collab communities that want the room to follow Discord voice presence.
* Choose **Scene Share Direct** for one-way program video. Scene Share never uses Follow Discord.

## Hosted or self-hosted

Use the hosted relay for the account-managed experience and automatic relay selection.

Use **Self-host** when you want to start the bundled local relay or server from the ASMR Collab or Scene Share dock without a hosted account. See [Self-host from OBS](/self-hosting).
